Unlikely Chosen being lettered

The Unlikely Chosen, our graphic novel translation of the biblical stories of Jonah, Esther, and Amos, is getting closer to press. Dave Sharpe has been brought in to letter the pages, and he is doing an outstanding job. It is a real thrill to see how he helps bring the story to life.

The release date for the book will be later in October. It's a bit like waiting for a baby to be born.

Learn to Draw Comics the Bible Way - VBS

We are trying a new approach to Vacation Bible School (VBS) at St. John's- teaching students to draw comics by drawing stories from the Bible. The class will include the basics of creating a comic from concept to completion. I hope to share some of the fruits of the student work on the blog next week.

Sending the Parables by e-mail

A note on the parables project:

the comic translation of Jesus' parables are available for use in ministry at no cost. You can access them by clicking on the individual pictures in this blog for the larger view, and saving the picture to your computer. However, I have found that sometimes this does not always work. So I am making the parables available in an Adobe PDF form. If you would like to have them sent to you: please send an email to Earnest Graham, the e-mail address is rectorstjohns1755@verizon.net. Please include your name, e-mail address, and any church affiliation you may have. The parables will be sent as they are completed (#3, the parable of the weeds among the wheat should be done by next week.)

I love to hear how they are being used. Feel free to write any time with feedback.
